We are already rolling in the new year. It brings new opportunities, new personnel, and new security concerns as well.

Our ASIS chapters have now officially become the Hudson Valley Chapter (#35). Members from both the previous Westchester and the Mid-Hudson chapters have merged. We look forward to new contacts, new ideas, and a bright future.

As the past chairman of the Westchester chapter (and continuing webmaster), I wanted to thank the members and past officers for an enjoyable and rewarding year, and also take time to welcome in the new officers for 2018.

The new officers for 2018 include:

Getting started as a new chapter presents a number of challenges. Please bear with us as we work to get things moving. Be sure to reach out to the new officers if you have any questions or suggestions, or if you can help with any volunteer positions.

Our website has undergone transformation into asishudsonvalley.org, but it may take a little time to work out all of the kinks, if you find any pages not working, you can let me know at webmaster@asishudsonvalley.org.

Our website also has a blog section for posting news and information that might be interesting to our members asishudsonvalley.org/news. If you have any significant security news, or if you may have written any articles about security concerns, please let me know (Charles Patterson, webmaster@asishudsonvalley.org) and I will try to get it posted on our website.

Be sure to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

We hope to have a calendar of activities put together soon.
A valuable upcoming event of interest to those in the security field is the next meeting of the IFMA, International Facilities Management Association. They will have a presentation on the threats posed by drones/ UAV’s. This will be on Tuesday, Feb 13, 4:30pm at the J-House, 1114 East Putnam Ave. Greenwich, CT.
A separate email should be in your in box regarding this event. Register here.

Hope we can make this year great for security.

Stay safe.
