Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of presenting on “digital citizenship” to 4th and 5th graders. That experience inspired this article published through the ASIS International Women In Security Community, promoting  the importance of being a responsible Digital Citizen. Our ‘new normal’ has forced children and adults around the globe to utilize technology and the Internet to execute their daily routine. However, is there an awareness of the dangers of not practicing safe cyber hygiene? This pandemic has just highlighted what we genuinely believe is a life skill that needs to be practiced every day.

Our article discusses topics such as how to gain control of your private information and why it is important to teach these skills to the younger generation. Being a responsible Digital Citizen impacts us all.
