Ian Anderson of the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services will give a presentation on the current threat environment within New York and will discuss the efforts of the Office of Counterterrorism following the mass shooting in Buffalo.

Ian Anderson currently serves as an intelligence analyst with the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services’ (DHSES) Office of Counter Terrorism (OCT) Critical Infrastructure Unit. Prior to this Mr. Anderson served nearly nine years as an intelligence analyst at the New York State Intelligence Center (NYSIC) Counter Terrorism Center (CTC). Mr. Anderson’s research and professional practice focuses on international and domestic terrorism, intelligence analysis, and critical infrastructure protection. Mr. Anderson also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University at Albany – teaching on the topics of homeland security, terrorism, and political violence. Mr. Anderson graduated from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy (2009) with a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) focusing in Homeland Security Studies and earned his BA in Political Science from the University of Albany (2007).
