On May 19th at 11:00 am Hudson Valley ASIS, along with our friends at the Southern Connecticut Chapter, are excited to host Kelli Foy, past TINYg presenter and current NY/NJ HIDTA Analyst, who will be giving a virtual presentation on “Catalytic Events and Reactive Violence.”
Kelli will discuss recent flashpoint events that have led to extremist violence both in the tri-state area and around the country, and will discuss how exploitation of online messaging and propaganda have accelerated these events.
Kelli Foy is an Intelligence Research Specialist on the NYPD Intelligence Bureau’s Global Trends and Developments team, where she prepares strategic and tactical intelligence assessments on the terrorism threat landscape to enhance the situational awareness and preparedness of uniformed members of service, NYPD executive leadership, and private sector security stakeholders. She also previously worked as a contractor supporting FEMA, where she served as lead writer on the 1 October After-Action Report evaluating the emergency response to the 2017 Las Vegas shooting and assisted in the design and conduct of over 20 counterterrorism workshops with local public safety organizations throughout the United States. Kelli received her Bachelors of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and is currently enrolled in the homeland security master’s degree program at the Naval Postgraduate School.
